Most observers agree that the Detroit Lions did well to fill in a number of holes through the 2013 NFL Draft. That doesn’t mean that all the holes are filled. Here is a look at the remaining needs:

Tackle – Do I believe the Lions when they say they are comfortable with Riley Reiff at left tackle? Yes, even though I also believe that they would have loved if Eric Fisher or Luke Joeckel had been available after the first four picks of last Thursday’s draft. While I believe the Lions are content with Reiff on the left and a battle between Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard for the right tackle spot, they still need to add a fourth tackle to at least provide additional depth. The Lions carried five tackles a year ago.

Kick/Punt Returner – The Lions have plenty of options on their roster to return punts and kicks but no one appears a favorite to land the gig. This may be a training camp battle or the Lions could find their man on the waiver wire or after training camp cuts like they did with Stefan Logan.

Defensive Tackle – A developmental/dpeth defensive tackle was one of the items on my Lions draft wishlist that went unfilled. The Lions have a fine three-man rotation of Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley and C.J. Mosley but question marks after that with Sammie Hill signing with the Titans and Corey Williams remaining unsigned.
