From Detnews.com

The Washington Post reported Tuesday night that Shanahan has asked general manager Bruce Allen to explore trade options for Haynesworth prior to the NFL draft (April 22-24), with Tennessee, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Jacksonville mentioned as potential destinations.

The Titans might be the most likely suitor, according to an NFL Network report. But Lions coach Jim Schwartz was Haynesworth’s defensive coordinator in Tennessee for his first seven NFL seasons. And with most draft analysts predicting Detroit will select a defensive tackle — either Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh or Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy — with the No. 2 overall pick, it’s clearly a position of need for the team.

Stranger things have happened, right? I mean, a week ago I would have said “Trade Donovan McNabb? Why the **** would anyone do that, the guy is a stud! You don’t deal away players like that”. Well… Here we are.

Ideally, scoring Haynesworth for a pick swap and perhaps a compensatory 4th or 5th would be perfect. BUT… You never know how far someone else is willing to go to get him. We can’t give up a first rounder, that would be suicidal; Leaving it up to a Jacksonville to do something crazy like that is the better move. I think Mayhew said it best… “as a GM, you’re more often that not defined by the moves you don’t make”. We’ll see how this one goes down, it sure as hell doesn’t look like Haynesworth is going to be a Redskin at the start of the preseason.
