I reached out to Philadelphia Eagles blogger Bob Wankel to get some insight into the other side of the trade. My thanks to Bob for answering a few questions.

The NFL Trade deadline officially passed at 4 o’clock today but the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles were able to sneak in a deal before it was too late.

The Lions will get help at running back in the form of Ronnie Brown in exchange for Jerome Harrison and a draft pick according to this tweet from the PhiladelphiaEagles.com account:

#Eagles have traded RB Ronnie Brown to the Detroit Lions for RB Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed draft pick in 2013.

Jay Glazer broke the news that the trade was in the works and indicated the draft pick was a seventh rounder.

Neither player had seen much action with their former team this season. Harrison hasn’t carried the ball since week three and was inactive this past week while Brown hasn’t had a touch in two weeks. Both players have gained just 2.9 yards per carry so far.
