Earlier this week, I posted the Falcons side of a Q&A I did with Blogging Dirty’s Jamie Kelly. He recently posted my side of the Q&A:

Blogging Dirty – The Lions have had a very good start to the season. What has been the catalyst for this early season success?

SLR – Mostly talent. The Lions weren’t very good for so many years for a reason: they didn’t have very good players. That has slowly changed over the last two seasons to the point that the group they have now expects to win. The four game winning streak to end last season showed them (even if they already believed it) that they can win. Even with the lockout, the Lions were able to maintain a lot of consistency in their approach and philosophy so they were able to hit the ground running.

A Quick Look Back at the Detroit Lions “First Quarter” Before Second Begins Tonight

The second quarter of the Detroit Lions season begins tonight against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Could there be a better way to kick off the second quarter after a perfect 4-0 first quarter of the season? I can’t think of one.

Detroit Jock City’s Matt Snyder approached me for a quick Q&A on the first quarter of the season.

MS: In your wildest dreams did you allow yourself to envision the Lions at 4-0 entering their Monday night showdown with the Bears?

ZS: No and anyone that says they expected it is a liar. With three road games and just one home game, 2-2 was my expectation with dreams of 3-1. 4-0 is the kind of start that has me revisiting my expectations for the season as a whole.

Getting to Know the Dallas Cowboys with The Landry Hat

The Lions will put their perfect record on the line against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Like their game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cowboys could be another team the Lions find themselves jockeying with for a playoff spot. A win (obviously) would go a long way towards giving the Lions the upper hand in the latter weeks of the season.

So, what are fans with a Cowboys perspective saying about their team? I caught up with Steve Mullenax, editor of The Landry Hat, and he was kind enough to answer my questions.
