2011 NFL Draft: Possibilities for Round 1

The 2011 NFL Draft is right around the corner and there are conversations happening everywhere relating to one big question. That question would be the following: Who should the Lions select in the first round of the draft?

Most make the case that a cornerback is the biggest need and therefore a cornerback is who they should select. Some talk about the Lions need to protect their franchise quarterback and address that by selecting an offensive tackle. Both lines of thought make sense. Join us each day as we count down towards the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. The countdown runs from 50 to zero and the number of days remaining will inspire the post for that day. Think of this as your NFL draft paper chain that loses one link each day!

35 days remain until we can stop talking about the NFL draft prospects and start talking about the Lions’ incoming rookie class. 35 happens to be the average number of sacks per team during the 2010 season and that reveals good things about the Lions on both sides of the ball.

Scout Completes Mock Draft for NFL.com, Sends Solder to Lions

The weeks and month leading up to the NFL Draft are a lot of fun for those that indulge in the speculation of mock drafts and prospect rankings. Even those that produce the best NFL draft content can’t fully predict what will happen once the clock starts rolling. One would have to get inside the mind of a team scout to know what the individual boards actually look like.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to see what a scout’s mock draft would look like? A NFL.com editor thought so and they got a scout from one AFC team to complete the task for them.
