Last week against the Bills, safety Eric Berry was injured on a block from Buffalo WR Steve Johnson. The hit was questionable as Johnson lead with his helmet and went right at Berry’s knees. Eric Berry tore his ACL and is out for the year as a result of the hit.

Eric Berry was a big piece to the Chiefs winning the AFC West last year. Berry entered the season on the verge of stardom at the safety position. The Chiefs spent their first round pick on him last year. He also made the Pro Bowl in his rookie year so you can understand how important of a piece he is to the defense.

After he left in the first quarter, the Buffalo Bills (yes, the Buffalo Bills) put up 41 points on the Chiefs. Kansas City’s defense was expected to be the team’s strong point and one of the league’s best. Instead, Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 17 of his 25 passes and threw for 4 touchdowns. Fitzpatrick and the Bills immediately targeted their tight end after Berry left the game. They found success, the tight end caught 5 passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns. That is great considering the Lions have two stellar tight ends in Brandon Pettigrew and Tony Scheffler.
