An Interview With DIRECTV’s Ultimate Displaced Fan, a Detroit Lions Fan

Earlier this season we had the opportunity to provide our readers with a giveaway of a Detroit Lions themed remote from DIRECTV. At the same time we encouraged you to vote for John Tracy, a Detroit Lions fan that had been named a finalist in DIRECTV’s Ultimate Displaced Fan Contest.

I received an email last week that announced John as the winner of the contest and with Lions pride welling up inside me, I got in contact with him to share more about his experience being a Lions fan living in Iowa and the contest that is sending him to the Super Bowl.

A big time thank you goes out to John for taking the time to share some of his story and including a few photos.

Detroit Lions Fan Wins DirecTV’s Ultimate Displaced Fan Contest

Remember John Tracy, the finalist in DirecTV’s ultimate displaced fan contest? Guess what? I’ve just received word he won!

John is a Lions fan living in Iowa but he’ll be on his way to the Super Bowl in Indianapolis.

Who knows, this you could be you next year if you’re a Lions fan living outside of Lion-land. Keep an eye out for next year’s contest.

Detroit Lions Fan in Contention for Ultimate Displaced Fan Prize, Here’s What’s in it for You

The Lions community is a tight-knit group of fans that have seen a lot of lean times together. Thankfully we have better times to enjoy this season and now we have an opportunity to help out one of our own in his quest to be named the Ultimate Displaced Fan by DirecTV. There could be a little something in it for you too.

John T. is a Lions fan in Iowa and he’s currently in the top 10 in the ultimate displaced fan contest. A vote for him isn’t just a vote for a fellow Lions fan, it is also an entry into a drawing for a $100 to spend at NFLshop.com.

In addition to that, DirecTV has provided the Lions-themed remote control to be given away to one SideLion Report reader. All you have to do to be entered for the remote giveaway is send out a tweet to get spread the word. I will pick a winner prior to Sunday’s game.
