CBS has the double header this week so the FOX coverage maps is a little compressed. As such, the Lions game against the Panthers won’t be widely seen on broadcast television. Fans in Michigan and Toledo as well as the Carolinas will be able to see the game without the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

Dick Stockton will be coming to town to do the play by play and he’ll be joined, as usual, by John Lynch. Hopefully the Lions can turn this game into a laugher so we can entertain ourselves by keeping track of Stockton’s errors. There will be a ton. In fact, we can keep track together during the SLR live blog, will you join us?

With the Detroit Lions on their bye week, football fans in the Detroit market will have a chance to see three non-Lions games this Sunday.

More often than not, the Lions occupy the FOX early game slot. This week, viewers in Detroit will see Tampa Bay play at New Orleans on FOX at 1 p.m. Dick Stockton will be on the play-by-play and will be joined in the booth by John Lynch. Lions fans will remember this broadcast team from last week’s game against the Broncos. This marks the second consecutive week that Lynch will be involved in the broadcast of one of his former teams’ games.

If you’ve had your fill of Stockton and Lynch you might want to click over to CBS to see the Jets play at the Bills. CBS has their number one team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms in the booth in Orchard Park, NY for that one.

This week it is FOX’s turn to broadcast the double-header. The Detroit market gets a look at a division rival when the Green Bay Packers play at the San Diego Chargers just after 4 p.m. Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick will bring you all the action from San Diego.

Check the coverage maps if you’re a Lions fan outside of the Detroit television market.
