Chicago Bears

The Bears will improve their offensive line that struggled last year with the pick of Carimi. Carimi should be able to start right away at right tackle for Mike Martz and the Bear offense. Stephen Paea surprised a lot of people at the combine with his strength as he broke the record at bench press. He also has a chance to start at DT this year for Chicago.

1st: Gabe Carimi (OT – Wisconsin)
2nd: Stephen Paea (DT – Oregon State)
3rd: Christopher Conte (S – California)
5th: Nathan Enderle (QB – Idaho)
6th: J.T. Thomas (OLB – West Virginia)

Minnesota Vikings (12th)

Quarterback: Brett Favre‘s time in the NFL looks like it is finally over. Favre was banged up the whole season and had to sit out the final weeks of the year. Joe Webb replaced him and lost two games but upset the Eagles in Philadelphia. Will the Vikes keep Webb, sign a free agent, or pick the quarterback of the future in this year’s draft? If they chose the last option, Jake Locker could be the selection. Locker may have been the first pick last year but decided to stay another year at Washington. His stock fell this year but he still is a potential first round pick. Locker has amazing athleticism for being 6’3, 230. Ryan Mallett should still be available and his big arm along with trading down to select Heisman winner, Cam Newton, are other options at quarterback.

Detroit Lions Mock Draft Database Says the Pick is Wide Open

The Lions season is over and with a potential work stoppage on the horizon, the only thing we know for sure is that the NFL Draft will be held in April. Sure, it is early and a lot will change but that is part of the fun!

This will be the last look at the Detroit Lions mock draft database before the deadline for underclassmen to declare. January 15 is the date to keep in mind as everyone will be officially in or out. The trend of a heavy lean towards defense continues with a few mock drafters electing to pick an offensive tackle as the Lions’ selection.

A few new names get added to the database with this update. Aaron Williams, a cornerback from the University of Texas, enters the picture as a rogue pick from the draft site Bring the House while Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith was picked out of a hat by NE Patriots Draft. Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller, Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea and Wisconsin defensive end J.J. Watt also appear for the first time.
