While Lions fans spent Friday celebrating their 1st round selection in the NFL Draft, TE Eric Ebron spent his hosting  the annual 2016 NFL Alumni Draft Party.

Thanks to LaToya Cunningham of Posh PR & events, former NFL Safety Ron Rice, TE Eric Ebron of the Detroit Lions, and others, the 2016 NFL Alumni Draft Party was a success. Another charitable event held just outside the city, showcased the unfailing commitment the Lions organization has towards fans and citizens in the Detroit metropolitan area.  Certainly the hard work of Lions Community Relations manager Brandon Scott has not gone unnoticed. Just several weeks prior, GM Bob Quinn and President Rob Wood donated Lions weight room equipment to Detroit’s well known P.A.L youth football league. Though winning hasn’t been a tradition for the Lions in the NFL, they have been consistent in servicing the fans and local community that supports the franchise to the upmost, even selling out stadium tickets for the entire 0-16 season of 2008. Lions fans are highly appreciated and the Lions organization is highly motivated to show them just how vital they are to the success of the team by throwing events like this.

So why is this event even important? Former NFL safety and Detroit native Ron Rice of the NFL Alumni Detroit Chapter collaborated with sponsor W3r consulting to host this event, raising money for the NFL Alumni Detroit Athletic scholarship. The scholarship supports student athletes with a scholarship worth $2,500 towards college tuition and even non-athletic students are eligible to apply. Speaking of application, the NFL Alumni Detroit Chapter is a non-profit organization that bases the funding for events/scholarships primarily on charity and donations. Lions fans should feel free to send the organizers of this event a thank you email or a thumbs up for their dedication to the Lions fans in the metropolitan area.

Now as for the event, it was held at the Emagine theatre in Royal Oak, MI. The occasion featured bowling, drinks, food, music and dancing that summed up a night of harmless fun as young professionals and NFL alumni came out to enjoy the occasion. Photographer Jeanes was on the scene snapping shots of Lions HB Ameer Abdullah, TE Eric Ebron and other honorable guest who made appearances. The pictures can be accessed through Jeanes instagram account linked above. We hope that fans have enjoyed the Draft so far and are looking forward to another amazing NFL Season in 2016. It’s seeming to be a promising one for the Detroit Lions.
