The Detroit Lions are 6-2 and in first place as they head into their bye week. This comes despite a bevy of injuries the team has faced down, and several games in which the team has rallied in the fourth quarter despite seeming destined to lose at other points of the game.

Along the way, that means there have been several players, perhaps unexpectedly, that have had to step up and open plenty of eyes.  Who are some of these contributors and what have their unique contributions been? Here are five to remember before the second half begins.
