Detroit Lions Bowl Game Finally Has a Name and Logo

It has been just over a year since the Detroit Lions announced they would sponsor a new college football bowl game to be played at Ford Field. Finally, that bowl has a title sponsor and a logo.

The new bowl effectively replaces the now-defunct Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, which began as the Motor City Bowl played at the Pontiac Silverdome. The new bowl maintains a tie with the Big Ten Conference but gets a higher-profile opponent the Atlantic Coast Conference replacing the Mid-American Conference as the opponent for the Big Ten team.

The inaugural game will be played on December 26, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.

Also naming a title sponsor today was the Bahamas Bowl. Yum.
