Battle for Right Tackle

As much as Lions fans would love to crown LaAdrian Waddle with the right tackle job right out of the gate, it appears the coaching staff is taking a different approach. Through two days both Corey Hilliard and Waddle have gotten reps with the first team offense. Hillard on Monday and Waddle on Tuesday.

Personally I like the idea how players competing for their job. I’d eventually like to Waddle take a firm grasp of the position, but for now I have no issues with both players splitting reps. Hillard was underwhelming last season after beating out Jason Fox for the job. This year, I think he’s more likely going to be fighting for the swing tackle job with the Lions.
