Stephen Tulloch Fuels the Hype of Two Young Detroit Lions

The two young Detroit Lions most widely discussed as potential breakout candidates are cornerback Darius Slay and running back Theo Riddick. Slay had his ups and downs while Riddick didn’t have many opportunities to see the field as rookies.

Slay’s ability to take a big step forward in his development is of utmost importance with the Lions choosing not to address the cornerback spot in any big way over the offseason. On the other side of the ball, Theo Riddick has the look of another potential offensive weapon with his versatility to contribute out of the backfield or split wide.

Just media hype or wishful thinking from fans? Not so, as you can count Lions middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch among the believers.

The Detroit Lions hold their first full-squad practice of training camp tomorrow afternoon and it will be a few more day before they put the pads on. Time will tell if Slay and Riddick can live up to the hype as their true value won’t be shown until the whistles start blowing for real in the fall.
