Ndamukong Suh is one of the finest defensive tackles in the league, and it’s possible he’ll be playing for a contract. Nick Fairley is just as talented, and his production might finally catch up now that he’s entering a contract season.

Jim Caldwell’s first training camp as the Lions coach is fast approaching, and when the team takes the field Monday in Allen Park, there will plenty on the agenda.

Throughout the offseason program, Caldwell cautioned against judging performances because players weren’t in pads. But shortly into camp, it will be easier to tell how players are doing in the new scheme.

“Obviously, the playbook I’m a little bit behind. But I’ll try and pick that up as quick as I can on the run,” Quigley said this week. “We’ll see how everything goes.”

An undrafted rookie out of San Diego State, Quigley signed with the Lions a day after the team wrapped up minicamp last month.
