Matthew Stafford Opens as Top Ten NFL MVP Candidate

If the Detroit Lions live up to their potential in 2014 that will mean Matthew Stafford lived up to his. It’s no surprise that the Lions made the playoffs in Stafford’s best year as a pro.

Are Stafford and the Lions in store for a success story more like 2011 or a disappointment like 2012? According to betting odds to win the NFL MVP award, Vegas sees the potential for a very big year from Stafford. At 20 to 1, just five players have better odds to win the league’s top individual award.

While the top odds are dominated by quarterbacks, Calvin Johnson is tied with LeSean McCoy and Adrian Peterson for the best odds of non-quarterbacks at 25 to 1.
