Most seasons, the NFL Supplemental Draft comes and goes with little fanfare. The Cleveland Browns took a chance on troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon in 2012 and that all changed, as he has become one of the best receivers in the NFL…and one of the riskiest. Because of Gordon, however, fans have been paying closer attention to the yearly ‘Second Chance Draft’.
The Detroit Lions have never been big players in the Supplemental draft, having selected no players in the event in 30 years. While there is still some time yet, the first few players have declared for the 2014 Supplemental Draft and we can start looking at whether there are any options for the Detroit Lions.
