Kickalicious Is Still Doing Crazy Kicks

The Detroit Lions gave Håvard “Kickalicous” Rugland a shot at an NFL kicking job during training camp last season after bursting on to the scene as a trick-kick-making youtube sensation. The Lions ultimately chose to give the job to veteran David Akers but Rugland looked the part in his preseason opportunities.

He has been training back in Norway with the hopes of getting another chance with an NFL team but that doesn’t mean he’s only doing conventional kicking these days. Rugland put out this video via his Instagram account earlier today:

The decision to stick with a veteran kicker made sense for the Lions but there were a number of fans upset with the decision. Teams are ramping up their offseason workout programs and Rugland remains without a team. Hopefully he gets picked up by someone and has the opportunity to continue the pursuit of his dream of kicking in the NFL.

And because it is always worth the four minutes it takes to watch, here is the youtube video that put Kickalicious on the map.
