As the clock ticks closer to draft day, NFL teams are ramping up their pre-draft visits and private player workouts. In the last seven days, the Detroit Lions have played host to cornerbacks Stanley Jean-Baptiste (Nebraska) and Justin Gilbert (OK St.); center Marcus Martin (USC); safety Jerome Couplin (W&M); linebackers Khalil Mack (Buffalo), Khairi Fortt (Cal) and Kyle VanNoy (BYU). Today, they will host wide receiver Erik Lora (E. Ill.).
Also in the past week, reports of pre-draft visits by wide receiver Davante Adams (Fresno St.) and linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (Nebraska) surfaced. While neither player had a specific visit date confirmed, both visits are said to have taken place in April.
With Lora’s visit today, that brings the pre-draft visit total to 26. Each NFL team is allotted 30 pre-draft visits. With only four visits remaining, it will be telling to see who else will be asked to the Allen Park facilities.
