It seems the NFL is breaking the traditional NFC-AFC rotation for Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day opponents as Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Lions will host the Bears on Turkey Day 2014.

After hosting the Green Bay Packers last year, it would normally have been the Buffalo Bills or Miami Dolphins who would have played in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day.
The NFL has made a series of scheduling changes for previous years, including bumping up the window in which games can be flexed into Sunday night beginning in week five. Apparently the Thanksgiving opponent rotation between the Lions and Cowboys is another.
In case you missed it, the Monday Night Football game Birkett referred to is the season opener against the Giants that was leaked by a New York radio station.
