As the clock ticks closer to draft day, NFL teams are ramping up their pre-draft visits and private player workouts. In the last seven days, the Detroit Lions have played host to receivers Marqise Lee (USC), John Brown (Pitt St.) and Cody Latimer (Indiana); tight ends CJ Fiedorowicz (Wisconsin), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (Washington) and Eric Ebron; defensive ends Denico Autry (Miss. St.) and Jadeveon Clowney (S. Carolina); cornerback Kyle Fuller (Virginia Tech); and kicker Nate Freese (BC).
Not only were the Detroit Lions’ pre-draft visits on the books this week, but also the news of private workouts has been spreading like wildfire, most notably, Michigan State cornerback, Darqueze Dennard. Dennard spoke of his March workout with DC Teryl Austin, noting “(The workout) went well. It went real well.” Other newsworthy workouts made known in the past few days were Jaylen Watkins (S), Aaron Murray (QB), Chris Davis (CB), Keon Lyn (CB), and the trio of Zach Mettenberger (QB), Kadron Boone (WR) and J.C. Copeland (RB) at LSU’s Pro Day.
