Detroit Lions Preseason Schedule Announced

The Detroit Lions preseason schedule for the 2014 season is set as the NFL released the preseason slate for all 32 teams this afternoon.

In addition to annual meetings with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, the Lions will face the Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Lions’ preseason week four game against the Bills will take place on August 28. The rest of the dates have yet to be announced.

As a result of the variable ticket pricing structure put in place by the Lions for 2014, the face value of tickets to preseason games will be substantially lower than in the past when all games, preseason and regular season, carried the same face value.

The Lions’ 2104 regular season schedule is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, although no date has been announced. We do know the Lions will face the following opponents in the regular season.

2014 Regular Season
Home Away
New Orleans Saints Atlanta Falcons
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Carolina Panthers
Buffalo Bills New England Patriots
Miami Dolphins New York Jets
New York Giants Arizona Cardinals
Green Bay Packers (Div.) Green Bay Packers (Div.)
Minnesota Vikings (Div.) Minnesota Vikings (Div.)
Chicago Bears (Div.) Chicago Bears (Div.)

The Lions’ “road” game against the Falcons will be played in London and will be played in week 8. That likely gives the Lions a bye in week 9 but further details won’t be available until the schedule is released.
