The Minnesota Vikings decided not to re-sign Jared Allen but that doesn’t mean the Detroit Lions will avoid seeing him twice each year. Allen had been courted by the likes of the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys but, in a surprising move, has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Bears.

It's a 4yr/ $32M deal for Jared Allen that voids to 3yrs/$24M with $15.5M guaranteed. That guarantee is in line with the Ware contract

Swapping out an increasingly ineffective Julius Peppers for Jared Allen is a sure-upgrade for the Bears defense and another headache for the Lions offense to worry about when facing their rivals from Chicago.
Allen compiled two sacks, two hits and four hurries rushing Matthew Stafford in two games last year. I’m sure Stafford, like most Lions fans, enjoyed the thought of Allen leaving the NFC North but that isn’t happening.
