James Ihedigbo Hopes to Sign With Detroit Lions Soon

The Detroit Lions were looking to fill holes at wide receiver and safety during this free agency period and they may be on the verge of completing that task. Signing wide receiver Golden Tate yesterday was a big first step and reports today suggest a deal with free agent safety James Ihedigbo could be just around the corner.

While joining the Lions would mean getting used to a new team, Ihedigbo would do so with a level of comfort considering head coach Jim Caldwell and defensive coordinator Teryl Austin were members of the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff. That has definitely helped strengthen the Lions’ pitch.

Ihedigbo is coming off the best season of his career and reuniting with Teryl Austin would seem to be beneficial for both parties.
