Detroit Lions Named Among 5 Potential Landing Spots for Brandon Pettigrew

Don’t count a return to the Detroit Lions out for Brandon Pettigrew. NFL insider Mike Silver named the Lions as one of five potential landing spots for the now free agent tight end.

The New York Jets and New York Giants have been named as possibilities before but the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders are newer to the list. The Texans have a hole at tight end following the release of Owen Daniels yesterday.

While a return to the Lions would be greeted with a lukewarm response from Lions fans, there aren’t a lot of other options for the Lions at the moment. Pettigrew is widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best, tight ends currently available on the free agent market.
