Detroit Lions May Add Fullback to Roster, Henry Hynoski to Visit Thursday

With the change in coaching staff comes the distinct possibility the Detroit Lions will have a true fullback on their roster for the first time in several seasons.

The New York Giants decided not to tender a contract to Hynoski after he missed most of the 2013 season with a fractured shoulder. Over the course of the 2011 and 2012 seasons, Hynoski was developing as one of the league’s best fullbacks. He doesn’t contribute much carrying or chatching the ball, but he posted the fifth-highest fullback blocking rating from Pro Football Focus for the 2012 season.

Hynoski, nicknamed “Hynoceros”, has just one career touchdown to his credit but he made the celebration count with a rhinoceros theme.
