While the Detroit Lions will most likely sign a wide receiver in free agency, it reportedly won’t be James Jones.
i'm still hearing NY Jets in the mix for receiver James Jones along with NY Giants, Miami Dolphins and a fourth team…Detroit Lions no more

Jones will turn 30-years old at the end of the month but he is coming off the two most productive seasons of his career. It was reported earlier that the Green Bay Packers remained in the mix but that seems unlikely given their other options already on the roster. Jones is capable of taking on a bigger role elsewhere, although it doesn’t appear that will be with the Lions.
Despite the expectation the Lions will sign a veteran receiver, links to actual names have been slow to develop. Lance Moore is thought to be an option after his release by the Saints thanks to the connection with new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi but nothing concrete has surfaced in that regard. The Lions may let the market settle before capitalizing on some bargains rather than jumping right in to the wide receiver free agent market.
