The official NFL free agency period is now open and the Lions have signed a wide receiver. Sound exciting, it actually isn’t.
Lions re-signed WR Kevin Ogletree, per league source. One-year deal.

Since Ogletree was their own free agent, a deal could have been struck at any time.
Before you get too up in arms, this is not likely to be the Lions only action at the position in free agency. If all goes according to plan, Ogletree may be little more than a camp body by the time it is time to report to training camp. He will definitely have to earn a spot in camp so if you keep your own depth chart in your man cave, spot Ogletree in using pencil.
The Lions were reported to have interest in James Jones this morning but reports this afternoon said they are out of that running. Golden Tate has most recently emerged as a wide receiver the Lions are reportedly showing interest in signing in free agency.
