Who Do Detroit Lions Fans Want to Win the Super Bowl?

The 48th Super Bowl will be played one week from today and for the 48th time, the Detroit Lions will not take part. But that doesn’t mean Lions fans won’t be paying attention – pretty much every breathing American pays attention to the Super Bowl as it is one of the country’s biggest party days.

Can a football fan watch a game and not care even one iota which team wins? Maybe, but I’m guessing most Lions fans will have at least a slight lean one way or the other.

There aren’t any strong reasons for Lions fans to dislike either team in terms of recent history concerning the Lions. They beat both teams in their most recent matchup and there weren’t any shenanigans like a postgame handshake gone wrong. Maybe Richard Sherman’s boisterous interview following the Seahawks win over the 49ers turned you against the Seahawks. Then again, maybe you loved it and it turned you toward them.

Without any clear-cut reason to root for one team over another, I’ll throw out a simple question. Who do you want to win Super Bowl XLVIII?

Feel free to explain your answer by leaving a comment. I’m interested to hear how different Lions fans are making their choice.

For me, it’s a clear choice; I’ll be pulling for the Broncos. With about 15 years of the Indianapolis Colts being my second favorite team, I’m a Peyton guy through and through. Yes, a number 18 Manning jersey still hangs in my closet next to whatever my current Lions jersey is at the time. I’ll be rooting for the Broncos, but really rooting for Peyton Manning.
