Peers Vote Calvin Johnson 4th-Most Respected NFL Player

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is one of those players who is hard to dislike no matter which team you root for. As it turns out, that sentiment translates to Megatron’s peers as well.

ESPN recently conducted a confidential poll of NFL players with a simple question: which player do you respect the most?

Peyton Manning blew away the field by being named by 26.8% of the 320 players who took part in the poll, but Calvin Johnson’s 4.7% was good enough for fourth-most. Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson tied for second at 7.5% while Drew Brees (4%), London Fletcher (3.4%) and Aaron Rodgers (3.4%) rounded out the top seven.

The poll also asked NFL players which player they would most want to start a team with. Not surprisingly, the top four answers were all quarterbacks but it was Calvin Johnson who broke into the top five with 11.6% of the vote behind Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Adrian Peterson and Drew Brees rounded out the top seven of that list.
