Are the Detroit Lions sending a private Jet to pick up Ken Whisenhunt? The evidence is mounting with a plane registered to “WCF Aircraft Corp” (hmm, William Clay Ford, anyone?) scheduled for takeoff at Detroit Metro Airport.

The plane was originally scheduled to depart for SD early this morning but was marked as delayed on flight tracking website FlightAware.com. Per an alert from the site, the plan has filed a new flight plan:

N404F (F900) has just filed a flight plan. It is scheduled to depart from Detroit Metro Wayne Co (KDTW) at 04:00PM EST Monday heading for San Diego Intl (KSAN) for an estimated arrival at 05:30PM PST.

Expected route: DUNKS J70 PMM EED BARET4

Assuming this development is everything it seems to be, the question becomes, is this flight for a final interview or to finalize a deal and introduce Whisenhunt as the new head coach of the Detroit Lions? It is possible it is both and we’re very likely to find out by tomorrow, perhaps even tonight.
