Should the Detroit Lions Fear Titans' Pursuit of Ken Whisenhunt?

While the Detroit Lions are still considered the front-runners to sign Ken Whisenhunt as their new head coach, the reports regarding the Tennessee Titans persist.

Of course, the Titans interest means nothing if it isn’t reciprocated by Whisenhunt. Schefter’s report is interesting in that he doesn’t just call the Titans interest “real” he also notes the situtation’s viability. The over-analyzer in me says that viability is dependent on interest coming from both sides. Sure enough, Ian Rapoport reports that is the case.

So, do the Lions have anything to fear? Probably not if what Chris McCosky is hearing is true.

In a later tweet, McCosky reminds us that there is a certain amount of gamesmanship in this kind of dance.

This may be a wild ride for a little longer but it shouldn’t last long. Whisenhunt is expected to make a decision in the next 48 hours.
