The Detroit Lions have expanded their coaching search today reportedly speaking with former Houston Texans Head coach Gary Kubiak.

Kubiak fits what the Detroit Lions are reportedly interested in as an offensive minded head coach with winning experience as a head coach. His most successful seasons came in 2011 and 2012 with the Texans were his teams went 10-6 and 12-4 respectively.

He also turned journeyman Matt Schaub into a seven year starter for the Texans which should be appealing to the Lions front office as they look to find a coach that can get the most out of Matthew Stafford.
