Detroit Lions 2014 NFL Draft Prospects: December 24 Bowl Game Viewing Guide

The college bowl system may be watered down but it does provide for a final look at a number of players ahead of the 2014 NFL Draft. Here is the bowl schedule for today, as well as a look at a few players to watch who could be on the Detroit Lions’ radar come May.

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl
Boise State vs. Oregon State
8 p.m. ET, ESPN

Brandin Crooks, Oregon State, Wide Receiver – Not really the type of receiver the Lions need to line up on the outside opposite Calvin Johnson but Crooks is an explosive athlete. Could be a “shiny new toy” for someone starting on day two should he declare for the 2014 draft. CBS Sports draws a comparison to Tavon Austin.

Demarcus Lawrence, Boise State, Defensive End – The Lions may not be likely to draft a defensive end after taking Ziggy Ansah and Devin Taylor a year ago, but Lawrence is Boise State’s most highly regarded 2014 prospect. He is on the light side at 6-3, 245 pounds.

Rashaad Reynolds, Oregon State, Cornerback – A 5-10, 187 pound corner, probably a day three pick.

Sean Martin, Oregon State, Cornerback – A little bigger than Reynolds at 5-11, 190 pounds but likely to go undrafted.
