The college bowl system may be watered down but it does provide for a final look at a number of players ahead of the 2014 NFL Draft. Here is the bowl schedule for today, as well as a look at a few players to watch who could be on the Detroit Lions’ radar come May.

Ohio and East Carolina are light on players who figure to be drafted next spring but there are a few names to watch this afternoon.

Derrell Johnson, East Carolina, Outside Linebacker – An outside linebacker adept at rushing the passer, Derrell Johnson is likely to be the highest 2014 NFL Draft pick playing in today’s game.

Damon Magazu, East Carolina, Saftey – Safety is probably less of a need this year than it was last year but the Lions could stand to add some developmental depth. As a very late round or UDFA option, Magazu is worth a look.

Travis Carrie, Ohio, Cornerback – What catches your eye with Carrie is his size (6-0, 212). He has battled injury problems in college but will likely get a look in an NFL training camp with the trend towards bigger corners.
