The Detroit Lions still have a lot on the line when they take on the New York Giants on Sunday. I got together with Adam Ganeles of GMEN HQ to get a perspective on the game from the other side.

1. What is your take on the Giants overall disappointing season?

Talk of changes at the top and dysfunction in the locker room are legitimate issues, but not the CORE issue. This roster is poorly designed, aging rapidly (median age of nearly 27), and lacks overall athleticism and talent. They’ve beaten two serviceable teams all year: Philadelphia with Barkley and Green Bay with Tolzien. Even in their five W’s the product on the field has been wildly underwhelming. To say the 2014 draft will be critical to restocking pantry would be an understatement.

2. Where are Giants fans at with Eli Manning? Has the memory of two Super Bowl championships already faded or are fans just chalking this up as a bad season?

What have you done for me lately? New York fans give fickle a whole new meaning. As far as they’re concerned, Eli was lucky to win a pair of rings — riding the wave of a miraculous reception and a twice peaking pass rush. They want him out… until his replacement reeks of Dave Brown II. Has Manning been awful? Yes. Is Giants nation being irrational regarding his future? Yes.
