Detroit Lions Need a Team Meeting, Says Reggie Bush

Leading up to today’s game the Detroit Lions looked like a team getting healthier and ready to take care of business against an inferior opponent.

Then the game was actually played and the Lions looked anything but focused. Five turnovers on offense, a number of which weren’t even forced by the defense, and not enough pressure on defense resulted in a disappointing loss.

Were the Lions simply overlooking the Bucs, despite indicating the opposite during the week? Perhaps, as Reggie Bush said after today’s game that the team’s mindset wasn’t right.

The question becomes, can they get it right and how quickly can it happen? If the season is to be salvaged something will have to happen in a hurry. The Lions have just four days until they host the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day. According to Bush, a team meeting needs to take place.

Adversity is a given in the NFL but too much of the adversity the Lions have had to deal with this season has been self-inflicted. Either that gets corrected or the season could snowball out of control.
