Detroit Lions Appear to Be a Healthy Team as Bucs Come to Town

The Detroit Lions, like any NFL team, have had to deal with some injuries over the last several weeks. They’ve been without Ziggy Ansah and Bill Bentley, then lost Glover Quin and Joique Bell late in last week’s game. The good news is, the Lions are starting to look very healthy.

All 53 players currently on the active roster participated in yesterday’s practice. That number only fell to 52 today because Louis Delmas received the day off, just as he has every Friday this season.

Like yesterday, we can expect that at least a handful of today’s participants will be listed as limited when the official injury report is released later this afternoon. Still, it is always a good sign when guys are on the practice field on Friday.

At this point it seems likely Ansah and Bentley will return to game action on Sunday. With Nate Burleson listed as a full participant for the first time since his accident, we would probably be correct in assuming he will play as well.

The health of the team coming out of the Bucs game is critically important with the quick turnaround to play again on Thanksgiving Day. The short week hardly gives enough time for players to recover from the normal bumps and bruises that come with playing in the NFL.
