The Detroit Lions had only ruled running back Montell Owens out of today’s game when they issued gameday designations on the final injury report.
Nate Burleson was officially listed as doubtful but will not play. Adam Schefter reported earlier in the week that the Lions planned to sit Burleson again this week but that was brushed off by Jim Schwartz by saying those decisions would be made later in the week. Burleson’s status is officially set to out after landing on the inactive list today.
Two more important players, defensive end Ziggy Ansah and cornerback Bill Bentley, have also been ruled out after their status was left in doubt on the final injury report released Friday afternoon. That means Devin Taylor will make his second start while Don Carey figures to see more time at cornerback like he did in Chicago last week.
