Detroit Lions Injury Report: Delmas Returns to Practice, Megatron Remains Out

Four Detroit Lions remained out at today’s practice – Ezekiel Ansah (ankle), Bill Bentley (knee), Calvin Johnson (knee) and Montell Owens (knee).

Days off for Calvin Johnson haven’t been usual but what is unusual is missing two consecutive days. Still, Johnson went on record today saying he just has some “maintenance” issues and that he expects to play on Sunday. He isn’t a guy that needs to practice, but getting him back for tomorrow’s session will help in easing any fears fans and fantasy owners may have.

Louis Delmas has also received regular days off throughout the season. He got one of those yesterday and was back at it today.

Corey Hilliard (knee) and Nate Burleson (forearm) were limited participants for the second day in a row. It would seem that Burleson is nearly ready to play again and while that may be true, Adam Schefter reported earlier in the day that the Lions are planning on holding him out against the Steelers. Surprise, surprise, Jim Schwartz wouldn’t confirm that report, saying decisions like that aren’t made until later in the week.
