Shack and The Hack's NFC North Predictions: Week 9

It’s a good slate of games for the NFC North this week, even with the Detroit Lions on their bye week. The Bears will be looking to make a stand this week despite losing their leaders on offense and defense in Jay Culter and Lance Briggs against the Packers who are also injury riddled.  Can the Bears win in Lambeau with an extra week of preparation? Can the Vikings win a game on the road against a ticked off Cowboys team?

Vikings vs Cowboys

Shack: The Cowboys are a very solid team coming off a frustrating loss to the Lions in the final seconds of the game last week. The Vikings on the other hand have just flat out been a disappointment. Even if A.P has a big day on the ground it’s hard to see the Vikings sneaking a win on the road.

Prediction: Cowboys win 34-24

The Hack: First it was Christian Ponder manning the Quarterback position, no pun intended, for the Vikings when the season started. Then he gave way to Matt Cassel who flamed out in just a game or two. Then the Vikings thought they had their man with Josh Freeman and he produced nothing to write home about.  Now they’re back to starting Ponder.  Glad to have them in the division.  The Cowboys are still smarting from the loss last week to the Lions. Vikings are the perfect remedy.

Prediction: Cowboys-35 Vikings-17

Shack and The Hack’s Game of the Week

Bears vs Packers

Shack: It will be interesting to see how the Bears come out and play after losing Jay Culter and Lance Briggs, yet holding up formidably against the Redskins two weeks ago. The Bears rarely won game because of Jay Cutler anways, but losing their defensive leader will be tough for a team that thrives on forcing turnovers. The Bears are still competitive, but Green Bay is better.

Prediction: Packers win 31-23

The Hack: Big Monday Night Football showdown at Lambeau Field between two NFC North powerhouses not named the Lions.  The Bears should be without Jay Cutler so I don’t see much of a chance for them to win but who knows coming off a bye week.  I would love to see somebody in the division beat  The Pack  to help out the Lions win the division.  The Packers are rolling and I don’t see Da Bears stopping them this week.

Prediction: Packers-28  Bears-10

Shack: 9-7

The Hack: 13-3
