Detroit Lions Missing Calvin Johnson At Practice Isn't a Cause for Concern

The Detroit Lions got the new practice week underway today and among the names sitting out today is Calvin Johnson.

Calvin didn’t miss any practice time a week ago so is there reason to worry about the health of his knee? I don’t think so. It has been pretty routine for Megatron to sit out on Wednesdays and while he did practice last Wednesday, the situation was much different. Tim Twentyman explained on twitter:

Really, this is just a return to his normal weekly schedule. Calvin was fantastic on Sunday and certainly worthy of a day of rest. Unless injury reports later in the week suggest otherwise, there isn’t any reason to worry that Johnson won’t be ready to go against the Dallas Cowboys.

Also not practicing today were Corey Hilliard, Riley Reiff, Louis Delmas and Andre Fluellen. Injuries are a big concern at offensive tackle but there is some good news in Jason Fox returning to practice.
