Detroit Lions Keep Patrick Edwards By Signing Him to Practice Squad

Yesterday I speculated that we could see a couple changes to the Detroit Lions practice squad roster this week. Well, the first shoe has dropped.

The writing was on the wall when news broke that Edwards had cleared waivers and that his locker had not been cleaned out. Edwards may not be in the team’s plans right now, but that doesn’t mean they are completely giving up on him.

Now we wait to see what happens with Chris Greenwood. The Lions were disappointed to lose him when the Dallas Cowboys signed him off the Lions practice squad late last month but Greenwood was waived yesterday. Should he clear waivers, he would be eligible to rejoin the Lions practice squad should they so choose.

I’d love to see them get Greenwood back. The guy has major potential.
