Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson didn’t practice much last week but it still came as a surprise that he wasn’t able to play against the Green Bay Packers. CJ got this week started by missing yesterday’s practice, bringing into question just how long he might be out.
Just this morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that Megatron isn’t likely to practice at all this week.
Lions WR Calvin Johnson has swelling in knee and is not likely to practice this week. HC Jim Schwartz said Johnson will be gametime decision

Well, the Lions took the practice field not long ago and Calvin Johnson was among the players participating.
Calvin Johnson returned to #Lions practice today w/brace on right knee. Very limited. Took part in position drills, not in skeleton offense

Being very limited is still cause for some concern but this is still a positive development over last week when he didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
It is too soon to say how big of a test this is in terms of Johnson’s ability to play on Sunday but it will be important to see how his knee responds to today’s workout. That being said, practicing, even in a limited capacity, is still better than another day on the sideline.
