Detroit Lions Injury Report: Calvin Johnson Remains Out With Knee Injury

The Detroit Lions have been known to give Calvin Johnson some practice time off but his absence today following yesterday’s DNP is unusual. He is listed with a knee injury but he did not have to leave last week’s game early. There isn’t any indication that Megatron is in any danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Packers but the Lions aren’t providing any more information other than what is required on the daily injury reports.

The rest of the Thursday update was mostly positive. Louis Delmas (knee) and Glover Quin (ankle) were out yesterday but both practiced today, although both were listed as limited. There remains some concern in the secondary, however, as Chris Houston missed another day of practice with a hamstring injury.

Today’s update brings two new names to the injury report that weren’t listed yesterday. Ashlee Palmer (ankle) did not practice and Israel Idonije (hamstring) was limited.

Ziggy Ansah (abdomen) and Rob Sims (shoulder) were limited again today while Patrick Edwards (ankle), Jason Fox (groin) and Rashean Mathis (head) remain listed despite being full participants at practice.

There will be on more update to the injury report this week. That comes tomorrow afternoon when the Lions have to give an indication of how likely each player is to play on Sunday.
