The Detroit Lions released their first injury report for week five and the good news it is a little shorter than the 14-player report they put out a week ago.
The bad news is that 75% of the team’s starting secondary missed practice. Chris Houston wasn’t able to finish the game last week and was held out of practice today because of a hamstring injury. Houston may be one of the guys who could play without practicing, but that would be a less than ideal situation. His availability for Sunday has to be considered very up in the air right now considering the injury forced him out of action against the Bears.
Louis Delmas (knee) and Glover Quin (ankle) also missed practice but they are more likely to have received a maintenance day than a big cause for concern. Calvin Johnson (knee) also missed practice but he has been given days off in the past.
Ziggy Ansah (abdomen) and Rob Sims (shoulder) were limited in today’s practice but both were able to play through their ailments last week.
Nate Burleson rounds out the injury report. There are no questions that he will be out for an extended period of time but because he is still on the active roster he has to be listed.
