Reggie Bush Injury Update: Tests Come Back Clean

Whether you are a Detroit Lions fan or a Reggie Bush fantasy football owner, the star running back’s knee injury was cause for concern. The helmet to the knee kept Bush from being a contributor for more than half the game but there is good news following his MRI today.

Jim Schwartz provided a quick update, short on details as usual, but he did give enough information for us to know that tests were negative and that while Bush will experience some soreness, there isn’t any cause for concern in the long-term.

The Lions offense sputtered in the second half without Bush’s big play threat so it is obviously a big deal if the sore knee keeps him out of action against the Washington Redskins next week. We won’t get the first injury report for week three until Wednesday.

Schwartz did acknowledge that there may be “medium-term” concern regarding Bush’s knee but said it is tough to speculate – one reason why he regularly chooses not to comment on injuries.
