The Detroit Lions have released the Thursday edition of the weekly injury report and for the second-straight day, just two names are listed.
Ziggy Ansah (concussion) returned to practice for the first time in nearly two weeks but he was noted as being a limited participant. Local beat writers reported that Ansah took normal reps in the limited portion of practice they were able to view (stretching and position drills).
Assuming Ansah didn’t end up getting listed as limited because of the return of concussion symptoms, today is a positive step forward. He would have to be symptom free to return to action and as long as he stays that way, he has a chance to play against the Vikings on Sunday.
Joining Ansah on the injury report was Louis Delmas (knee). Like Ansah, Delmas also practiced but on a limited basis. Delmas was also limted in yesterday’s practice.
Game status designations aren’t made mid-week but there is no reason to expect Delmas won’t be ready to go for Sunday. Ansah’s situation is a bit different since concussion symptoms can be unpredictable. As long as they don’t return, Ansah is a decent bet to play.
