Expectations for the Detroit Lions in 2013 are all over the map. Most predictions you’ll find out there have the Lions finishing anywhere from second to last but there is one analyst at NFL.com willing to go out on a limb.
Gil Brandt, formerly the Dallas Cowboys‘ vice president of player personnel from 1960-89, likes what the Lions did in free agency so much that he picked them to win the NFC North in NFL.com’s annual analyst predictions piece. Here is what he had to say:
Signing running back Reggie Bush was a great move and will help significantly, while fellow free-agent addition Glover Quin will be a boost to the secondary. Detroit, which has a good home schedule, really shored up its defense through the draft.
Brandt was the only NFL.com analyst to pick the Lions. The Packers led the way having been selected by seven analysts while three went with the Chicago Bears.
