All the Lions need to do to improve upon Stefan Logan‘s performance in the return game a year ago is name the man who will hold those duties. But they haven’t done that yet and if Steven Miller is going to win a roster spot, he will have to do it as the team’s return man.
It started as a wide open competition but has been whittled down of late. With the release of Mike Thomas, the primary options are down to Miller, Patrick Edwards and Micheal Spurlock. Depending on what kind of role the Lions have for Edwards on offense, they may want to limit his exposure in the return game. The opportunity for Miller is there, he just needs to seize it against the Patriots on Thursday. With the first round of cuts looming soon after Thursday’s game, this might be Miller’s last shot to prove he is worth a longer look.
